We have recently purchased the complete Starmatik FBS B 45 Rail bending cell, along with the necessary tools used by the automated system servicing the TruBend 3170 hydraulic press brake, with a bending length of 4,080 mm.
There are many advantages that an automated bending system can offer, not just in terms of production speed. For this type of activity, utilizing robots significantly reduces the risk of accidents affecting operators and provides products with consistent quality, manufactured according to precise parameters and standardized procedures. This is in addition to the continuous operation of the robot on the task at hand. The robotic solutions for press brake applications developed by Starmatik add specific features to these benefits, such as the FBS flexible bending system (Flexible Bending System), which enables automatic management of work queues by automatically changing the press brake tools, the robot gripper, and the related CN programs. This solution reduces non-productive time and increases operational flexibility, boosting productivity even for small batch processing. The Starmatik bending system comprises an anthropomorphic robot equipped with vacuum (suction cups), magnetic, and/or mechanical (tweezers) grippers.
The work cycle involves the following phases:
Production increases when the facility is equipped with a sheet metal loader: in this case, the first three phases (picking, centering, and thickness check) are executed in hidden time. Within the cell, the Fanuc robot has a wrist capacity of 45 kg and is installed on a controlled axis rail that is 12 meters long.
With the acquisition of the new bending machinery, we have increased our production capacity and are automating processes to achieve maximum efficiency.
